Hi Daddy, I miss you!

Here I am with my second cousin Hopelyn at the bookstore. I made a new friend, Cookie Monster! Mommy bought me a big girl toothbrush. I love to brush my teeth! I get really mad when she takes it away.
I also learned that whatever food I don't want to eat I can sneak to Brophy.....and he'll eat it!
He can't have any of my blueberries or cheese, only the vegetables! I think it is so funny when he licks my fingers. Darn, wish we had a dog at our house so I could get rid of the yucky food.

I miss you daddy, and can't wait to see you in two days!!
Love,
Lucy

Something is Fishy......

My new friend, Niko, the Beluga Whale
Walt and I attended a lovely party at the Atlanta Aquarium. We enjoyed the venue so much we thought we'd take Lucy the next day to see the fish. Lucy meeting the fish. Forever pointing......fishy. Hmm, I wonder what species that fish was. Very interesting, may I borrow your brochure?
Playing near the touch pool with daddy. Okay, let's hang upside down for a better view. I can splash in the water! As we heard a loud gasp from the crowd standing around...."oh look at the baby!" Mommy and Lucy at another touch pool, a little more careful this time. This place is so cool!

Our little lady is walking!

Lucy took her first steps on September 3rd. I thought it was a special birthday gift for Walt....um, no, she preferred crawling unless promoted by one of us to walk a short distance.

After a month and a half of sporadically taking a few cautious steps when she so desired, she decided it was time to take off.

I believe spending last weekend in Dallas gave her a bit of encouragement. Maggie, Kate, and Olivia kept Lucy on her toes, literally. Lucy decided she had better get up and walk if she wanted to play with the big girls.

This video gives you a little glimpse of her new skills. And the fact that she is in costume makes it even cuter. Lucy laughs and smiles a lot while walking. I think she is still shocked at what she can do.

Happy Halloween

Lucy the Ladybug....she even wore the hat, can't believe it! Waving "bye bye" to the Trick or Treaters. She loved seeing all the kids who came to the door dressed up.

Our cute little bug.

Lucy did not feel well all week but was still up for getting in costume and passing out candy. She is feeling much better but it was a tough week for everyone. No one ever explained to me how hard it is as a parent to watch your child suffer through an illness, ugh, what heartache.

A Beautiful Sunday Hike

We hit the trail today since the weather is still so pleasant and we needed a little exercise.
I think I forgot I am six months pregnant because my body is hating me as I type this entry.

We made it to the top, enjoyed a little lunch, and a lovely view of Mt Rainier.

Lucy was very comfy in the backpack on the way down and decided to take a nap. We made it all the way down before she woke.

We were lucky enough to see our friends Ryan, Melanie, and Milo. Milo found the perfect yellow leaf for his collection.

She will feed herself but WILL NOT use a sippy cup!

Last week Lucy insisted on grabbing the spoon out of my hand while I was feeding her. I decided to just give her the bowl of apple sauce and let her give it a go. She caught on very quickly, surprisingly she began feeding herself and quite a bit made it into her mouth. She was concentrating very hard and seemed quite pleased with her accomplishment. Now if I could only get her to drink milk out of a sippy cup.
