Q is 2!

Two candles already? How can it be?  Quinn celebrate his big day with his little buddies at one of his favorite hang-outs. A Kindermusic party. Quinn takes a fun music class each week and they host birthday parties so it was a perfect match.
All the little ones, and parents alike, enjoyed music and dancing with Ms. Rebecca.

We want shakers!!!

Greyson and his daddy having fun!
And maybe the best part of it all?

Such a happy birthday boy!

Christmas 2010

Quinn and the Overmann girls.

Lucy and Carlee in their matching Christmas shirts.
We enjoyed a wonderful midwest Christmas with both of our families. The kids did wonderfully and Walt and I were able to take a little kid-free get-a-way. Thank you mom and dad!  Christmas eve was celebrated with my mom's side of the family. It is a hug celebration. Lots of people, kids, food and fun. Lucy and Quinn had a ball playing with their second cousins and opening their gifts. We later rang in the New Year at the farm with Grandpa and Grandma Rooney and the Lyakers. It truly was a special time.

Waiting patiently to hear her name called for Christmas gifts.  So intense.

Money from Great Grandma Overmann, pretty excited!

Christmas morning with Buzz Lightyear. What could be better?

Of course a little Jessie would make everything perfect. Santa sure knows what the Rooney kids love!

The Northwest Pole

We are off to the North Pole!

OK Q, I'll just twist off his finger, and when he's distracted with that, you can make off with the goods!

Really Q, Santa is not coming home with us.

Blog Resolution and Snow Tubing

Blog Note:  We've been slacking on the blog, yes, I know. I've made a resolution to blog at least once per week. Although I haven't blogged much, we have been very busy doing many fun winter activities. If anyone is still interested, please catch up with us as I recap!

In early December we headed up to the North Cascade Mountains for  some snow tubing. It was a beautiful, sunny, clear day. Lucy and Quinn had a ball, as did Walt and I. We've since returned and know it will be a fun winter tradition.

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a really wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Grandma Jitty and Papa Mike were in town and we had a surprise snow falling that last several days. The snow was a great addition to all the festivities.
Our driveway was the perfect slope for sledding. Lucy was quite the adventurous one, as usual. Don't worry we had someone in the street watching for cars.  Most cars had a hard time making it up our neighborhood hill so the street was all clear.

Enjoying the ride back up the hill!

And back down the hill we go!

We spent a lot of time inside during the week, we started putting up Christmas decor.

Lucy found all of her favorite ornaments and chose one branch where they all fit.

We made a lovely gingerbread house, where most candy actually made it on the house. I think?
Then we played in the snow a little more. Is there anything cuter than wee ones in their snow gear?

Daddy had so much fun building the house. What happened to all the candy?

We enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal. Thank you, mom, for helping me prepare my first Thanksgiving feast.

I always enjoy the holiday season and now, with little children, it is just magical.

Bouncy House

What do you do when you have cold weather and two energized toddlers? Put them in their own bouncy houses! What better idea for use of an under utilized formal living and dining room area? Quinn, thinks he is Buzz Lightyear in his spaceship, and Lucy is just thrilled to bounce a thousand times while making her hair stand on edge.

Mustard

I LOVE mustard as much as my mommy. Especially on soft pretzels. Not the fancy stuff, just the yellow kind......yummy!
