6 months and Little Mommy

I am 6 months. Wanted to give you a little update on my life these days.
I went to my pediatrician yesterday for my well check and found out I weight a whopping 20lbs and am 29 inches long! The doctor told mommy those were the average stats for a one year old......guess I am a little ahead of schedule. Something about being off the charts, not sure what that was about, mommy seemed happy. Maybe I'll catch up with Lucy and her friends soon so I can play. I am sick of just sitting around.
I had some alone time with mommy today so she started snapping pictures so I flashed a smile or two. At least Lucy wasn't trying to sit on me or take the toys out of my hand. She was napping.
I moved into my room a few weeks ago and am sleeping very well. 9pm til about 6:30am. I have an early morning snack from mommy and hit the sack again until around 9:30-10am. I love sleeping in my crib, but I miss mommy and daddy's room, it was nice. They said it was time to pack my bags and move out. Six months is the maximum stay. Mommy is making my room special and will post some pictures soon. She went crazy and switched the furniture around from Lucy's and my room. Daddy said she was nuts, but I like the new look.

We met sweet little Logan this week and Lucy was able to hold her all by herself. Don't worry Logan's daddy was right next to her, just in case. Lucy did a great job and treated her much nicer than she did when I came home from the hospital. She would not leave my eyes and ears alone.

After holding Logan, she thinks her baby doll is pretty boring.
Okay, gotta go, we are getting ready for Grandma to arrive!! Mommy seems really happy. Something about help, I think that is a good thing, right?
xoxo,
Quinn

Falling Behind

Just a couple photos to keep you interested. If anyone still checks the blog, so sorry I've been slacking on the updates. We are having a great summer and staying very busy. It is HOT in Seattle. I LOVE it and we are enjoying every minute. Grandpa Rick and aunt Annie are visiting. And in a few days grandma Jitty arrives for a long visit. We are very excited!

Bon Appetit

Quinn's first experience with rice cereal, with big sister's help, of course. Our little baby is growing so quickly.

Superwoman

Seattle in the Summer, from Bainbridge Island.
Adrienne soaking in the Sun. Car seats on the Kayak can't be seen.
For those in the Midwest, the Seattle Skyline is in the Background - click to enlarge.

This is what happens when we ski, we laugh hysterically and try to do the splits. By the way, Adrienne (and maybe Lucy) will be on the slopes full force this year so make your plans to travel west. (hint hint Shelby and Ted and Janice)

Happy Birthday Grandpa Rick

Happy Birthday Grandpa Rick. You are an extraordinary man, and the above painting illustrates how so many people see you: a life dedicated to healing the sick.

This famous 1891 painting depicts Sir Luke Fildes's (the painter) admiration for the doctor of his mortally sick young daughter. It is aptly named 'The Doctor'. Sir Fildes is in the darkened background, in agonizing fear.

I am sure you have seen this before. It could have been painted of my father, Rick, as I have seen him in this posture many times. Today is his birthday.

Happy Birthday Dad, Happy Birthday Grandpa.
Lucy and Quinn are growing up fast and expect many years of stories and ice cream.

Going Climbing

(click to enlarge) - Glacier Peak, North Cascades Washington

Yes, it's that time of the year, climbing time. All you ladies reading this, ask your husbands if they want to join Walt. If they are not interested, ask yourself if you would like to join, and then tell your husbands they are soft and girly men.

On deck this summer: Glacier Peak (above) and Mt Olympus (below).

There is room! Are you interested in serious, intense fun? Let's go!

Miss everyone! Mt Olympus, Olympic National Park, Washington

Florida Trip Part 2

A few more photos taken with our smaller camera during the Florida trip.
Lucy and Riley swimming. If you can't tell from the picture, Lucy is wearing a built in flotation device swimsuit with water wings. I always laughed at parents who dressed their kids in all these swim assistants during my time as a lifeguard.......just teach your child how to swim, I would think to myself. Now I know, especially with two babies, you can't be too cautious around water. Not to mention, Lucy absolutely LOVED being able to swim around the pool all by herself, she thought she was pretty cool.
Yumm, frenchfries......her first time with a plate of the little tasties all to herself. She was totally spoiled and treated to many food items that she normally doesn't get to eat, but hey, it was vacation, right? And Grandma was around.

Digging in the sand and waving to everybody that walked by. We had to pry her away from the beach and ocean each time. No fear.

Quinn's first time making waves. He was not too sure, but okay to get his feet wet and cool off a bit. Then back to the sunshade, he was such a little trooper.

Looking forward to many beach vacations ahead.
