Family Vacation

Our first family vacation to the beach. The sun was warm, the pool was refreshing and the help, (my parents and brother) was a treat. Below are some shots from the bigger camera during our trip. The rest were on the smaller camera which I will post later. Enjoy!

During our visit I was able to meet up with a dear friend of mine from elementary and hight school. She, also named Adrienne, lives in the area with her husband and little girl Riley. Riley and Lucy played and swam together while the adults chatted. Thanks for visiting Adrienne, Shane, and Riley, great to see you all!

Feeling better, ready for the beach

We are in KY visiting my parents before we head to Florida for our first beach vacation with the kids, grandparents and uncle Michael. Unfortunately, most of our week was spent taking care of Lucy while she was ill and getting adjusted to the time change. Wow, what a challenge. Lucy the Lion feeling much better after 4 days of feeling awful with a fever. Not a fun way to spend time at Papa and Grandma's house. But I am so glad I had the extra help. She is back to her normal self, running around the house being a typical almost 2 year old.

Lucy, hold still, let me fix your hair. Daddy says you need a cut, but I agree with mommy, let's keep it long.

Mother Fights Off Cougar in Squamish, BC

Q and Lu, first watercolor painting

Q is 18lbs, and long as spaghetti at 4 month checkup. He is 19 weeks now. Our sign needs an update.

Swimming at the Hess Lodge (mike and andy's house)

You may notice how enthusiastic Lucy gets around water. She sat patiently the entire drive over to Mike and Andy's. Jumping is not a problem, as long as water is below.

I liked this melted snow at 103 degress thank you very much.

Andy is from Seattle and joined the Hess clan years ago. Q is auditioning for a spot on the Hess board of directors. Here Andy is teaching Q the proper position for a Pacific Northwest Hug.

I think his audition is going well, don't you?

Mike keeps a close eye on him.

Adrienne is often in two places at the same time with Q and Lu.

This time of year the Hess Lodge has limited tourists, so we had the gourmet food (and wine) all to ourselves. We even had the local attorney stop in for a visit. Joanna had to return to the University to keep the professors in check. She was gone before the paparazzi arrived.

I think I look like my mommy.
